Progress So Far
I'm slowly putting together my apartment. But due to some foreign work commitments, progress has been pretty slow. Here's some before and afters:

Week One: Finding the line and figuring out how to cross it.
Week one of the cure is pretty basic. I washed the floor and bought myself flowers. I gave a box of stuff to my sister and found three more garbage bags worth of stuff to take to Value Village tomorrow.
The most challenging thing to do this week was the one thing that sounded like the simplest. Sit for ten minutes in a spot in your apartment that you never sit. This for me would be "Devin's Side" of the bedroom. For anyone reading that doesn't know: Devin (my ex) and I moved into this apartment back on September first of this year. Shortly after we moved in, our relationship started to deteriorate and one Saturday in November I came home to an empty apartment. I won't get into details, but the long and the short of it is, two months later that is still "Devin's Side."
I've never acknowledged it until today, but there's a line in my bedroom that I don't cross. As I sat there for the ten minutes the book suggests I realised that the easy thing to do would be to move to another apartment, maybe even in a different building. But running from a problem is never something I do willingly so I decided that the corner I was sitting in will be my new reading corner. I am going to find the most comfortable reading chair I can and I am going to make that corner my home.

Apartment Therapy
Hello again ladies and gents,
I've taken a brief hiatus to return to you with a new(er), emptier apartment that is in desperate need of some TLC. I've decided that blogging the redesign of my apartment will help me to actually finish this time.
I'm following along with the book Apartment Therapy (follow the link, they have a website and it's awesome). The "program" (for lack of a better term) is eight weeks long and breaks the daunting and sometimes emotional task of renovating/redesigning your tiny apartment into managable little chunks. At the end, you have a housewarming party so all your friends can see your shiny, stylish apartment.
